Emily Mortensen earned her bachelor's degree from SUNY New Paltz in May 2021 in digital media programming and management and a minor in art studio. She is highly experienced in creating quality content for small businesses and organizations. She is also the founder of Side of Vibes which promotes food photography and community. Her first published photograph was in the Poughkeepsie Journal of a fire on Sugarloaf Mountain in September 2019.
